Presidential Pardon List Under Review
The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, clarified that no inmate pardoned by President Bola Tinubu has been released from prison.
The clarification followed criticism of the measure, particularly the inclusion of Maryam Sanda, a convicted husband killer, in the list of persons granted clemency by the President.
Maryam Sanda was sentenced to death by hanging in 2020 for stabbing her husband to death after an argument in Abuja.
