Almansa Sets New Lap Record in Australia
David Almansa of Leopard Racing achieved a new lap record with a time of 1:34.726, securing the top spot on Friday at the Liqui Moly Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
Teammate Adrian Fernandez and Alvaro Carpe of Red Bull KTM Ajo completed the top three, while Angel Piqueras of FRINSA – MT Helmets – MSI took fourth place after improving in the final stages.
Home crowd favorite Joel Kelso of LEVELUP – MTA finished fifth, and compatriot Jacob Roulstone of Red Bull KTM Tech3 ended the session in 11th place despite experiencing a late issue with his machine.
