A new twist has been added to the secretive world of managerial searches, with University of Tennessee baseball coach Tony Vitello being considered for the San Francisco Giants' managerial job.
The best hires seem to be the most unexpected, and Vitello's potential hiring is an example of this, as it's not common for MLB teams to hire managers from the college ranks.
I don’t follow college baseball, but I know about Vitello because of his excellent commentary on draft nights for MLB Network.
