Souvenir Shop to be Demolished for Buchanan Galleries Extension
A planning application has been approved to create a new addition to the shopping centre at 170 Buchanan Street.
The site, currently partly occupied by Tartan House, will be demolished as the shop "does not positively contribute to the wider streetscape" according to the proposal.
- The new building will include shops, restaurants, and leisure opportunities.
- The development aims to deliver "best-in-class retail and food and drink floorspace" that complements the existing retail offer in the area.
"The site and existing retail unit comprise an exciting opportunity to sensitively develop and improve this key Buchanan Street frontage within the heart of Glasgow."
