Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy continue to hold the top positions in the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20I rankings for batsmen and bowlers respectively. Their strong performances keep them at the pinnacle as the cricket season progresses.
Following Pakistan’s 2-1 home series victory over South Africa, several Pakistani players made remarkable advances in the ICC T20I batter rankings:
Sharma leads the batters' chart with 925 rating points, followed by England’s Phil Salt and Tilak Verma. India’s captain, Suryakumar Yadav, is the only other Indian inside the top 10, holding the eighth position.
Varun Chakravarthy retains the number one spot among T20 bowlers, with West Indies’ Akeal Hossein in second place and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan completing the top three ranks.
The fourth place saw a shuffle with Australia’s Adam Zampa dropping three positions from fourth to seventh. This allowed Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga, England’s Adil Rashid, and Hasaranga’s teammate Nuwan Thushara to move up one spot each.
Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood made a notable rise, advancing two places to 10th, boosted by his performances against India.
“Chakravarthy is the only Indian to feature in the top 10 of the T20 bowlers’ rankings.”
Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy remain the standout Indian players in ICC T20I rankings, while Pakistan’s squad gains momentum with several players rising significantly in the rankings.
