Season 2 of Maxton Hall began with emotional turmoil, as James betrayed Ruby only days after they officially became a couple.
During the Thursday, November 6 premiere, James (Damian Hardung) discovered that his mother had passed away. Overwhelmed, he rushed to Ruby’s (Harriet Herbig-Matten) house but left silently after noticing how joyful she looked with her family.
Devastated, James went on a drinking spree, which Ruby was unaware of. Thinking he had disappeared, Ruby joined his sister Lydia (Sonja Weißer) to search for him. Their search led them to a house party where James was drinking and dancing with other women.
When Ruby appeared at the party, James jumped into the pool, and a random girl followed him. In front of Ruby, the two kissed, shattering her trust just as their relationship had begun to deepen.
“Maxton Hall picks up after James and Ruby’s passionate night together in Oxford and her greatest life goal within reach, everything seems to be going perfectly for Ruby. Things take a turn, however, when a stroke of fate in James’ family changes everything and James himself, of all people, brings her back from cloud nine to a harsh reality. She has never had such strong feelings for anyone as she does for James — and never before has anyone hurt her so deeply.”
The second season, airing weekly, is adapted from the second volume of Mona Kasten’s novel Save You, promising further emotional depth and heartbreak.
Maxton Hall’s second season opens with a heartbreaking twist, as grief drives James to a devastating mistake that tests the limits of love and forgiveness.
