Environment Canada has canceled the fog advisory for Rocky View County, including regions near Airdrie and Crossfield. Earlier warnings highlighted near-zero visibility during the early morning hours on Friday, with possible freezing rain affecting the morning commute.
Motorists were advised about potentially hazardous travel conditions in certain areas. They were urged to reduce speed, use headlights, and maintain extra distance between vehicles for safety.
According to Environment Canada:
The fog has since lifted. Periods of snow were expected to end near noon, followed by a 40 percent chance of afternoon flurries. The temperature will fall to zero with a morning wind chill near –7.
Although fog and freezing rain disrupted the morning commute, conditions have improved with lifted fog and clearer roads, but cautious driving remains advisable due to cold temperatures and possible afternoon flurries.
