Medical tourism and corporate business diplomacy are becoming significant investment avenues between Qatar and Uganda, according to a representative of a Qatari company.
Mohamed R Massani, co-founder and chairman of KON Group, told Gulf Times that Ugandan investor delegations praised the medical care they received in Qatar. He said,
“We already received a few delegations... and they had received very good treatment.”
Massani explained that medical tourism developed after Ugandan visitors to Doha accessed care at affiliated clinics.
He emphasized the quality of Qatar’s healthcare system, describing it as
“among the best in the region.”
Massani also highlighted that the medical tourism initiative supports Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy beyond hydrocarbons.
“Medical tourism and corporate business diplomacy are emerging key investment channels between Qatar and Uganda.”
