Hayley Williams unveiled “Showbiz,” a surprise song from her third solo album Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, which was officially released today on vinyl. This release follows previously added tracks “Good Ol Days” and “Parachute,” expanding the original collection of 17 songs Williams shared last summer through her label Post Atlantic, with distribution by Secretly Distribution.
Williams co-wrote “Showbiz” with producer and collaborator Daniel James, who was involved in creating the entire album. The track portrays a romantic moment amidst the smoky, strobe-lit atmosphere of a club. Williams sings:
“I wanna do it again / I wanna dance in the strobe lights / I wanna choke on the smoke / And feel your eyes on me.”
She reflects on whether the experience held the same meaning for the other person involved.
The visualizer for “Showbiz” highlights Nashville’s skyline and features Williams' distinctive scribble art, consistent with the album’s visuals.
To celebrate the album's vinyl release, record stores worldwide hosted “Ego Nite,” an event that included record playback, merchandise sales, and physical copies of Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party.
Williams' longtime collaborator Daniel James played a key role throughout the album's production, adding a cohesive creative touch.
“Ego Nite” events connected fans with a physical experience of the album, emphasizing the tangible value of vinyl.
