Hong Kong: Former India cricketers Robin Uthappa and Bharat Chipli delivered explosive innings as India edged past Pakistan by two runs using the DLS Method in a rain-curtailed Pool C clash at the Hong Kong Sixes on Friday.
Uthappa hammered 28 runs off just 11 balls, while Chipli contributed 24 runs from 13 deliveries, guiding India to a total of 86 for 4 in their six-over innings.
Pakistan started their chase positively, reaching 41 for 1 in three overs before rain interrupted play. When the match was eventually called off, the DLS calculation placed Pakistan two runs behind the par score, handing India victory.
All-rounder Stuart Binny played a crucial role by conceding only seven runs in his over and taking one wicket, a spell that proved decisive in the final result.
“Once play was called off, the DLS calculation left Pakistan two runs short of the par score.”
