Timberwolves Dominate Kings 144-117 for Fourth Win in Five Games

Anthony Edwards led seven Minnesota players who scored in double figures with 26 points as the Timberwolves defeated the Sacramento Kings in their sixth straight victory in Sacramento. The Wolves have historically performed well in California’s capital, often better than when facing the Kings at home.

In Sunday’s game, Edwards added four rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Minnesota shot 53.6% from the field, nailed 18 three-pointers on 46 attempts, and capitalized on 18 Kings turnovers to score 37 points.

“Another complete game both ends of the floor,” Wolves coach Chris Finch said after the match. “I thought we were really sharp, which is what we needed to be. Built on the performances of the other day, and it continued into today. Really, really pleased with how we’re starting games defensively.”

The Timberwolves (6-4) recorded their fourth win in five games and achieved back-to-back decisive victories. Although this game wasn’t as overwhelming as Friday’s 40-point win against Utah, the Wolves only trailed briefly early on.

Edwards, playing his third game after returning from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for four matches, shot 7-for-16 from the field, 5-for-11 from beyond the arc, and 7-for-8 at the free-throw line. He scored 37 points on Friday against the Jazz and has made 12-of-23 three-pointers over his last two games.
