Surging Ducks Ground Jets for Seventh Straight Win

ANAHEIM — The government shutdown may have ended, but the Jets were still grounded on Sunday night at Honda Center. The Ducks continued their dominant form, defeating Winnipeg 4–1 to extend their winning streak to seven games.

Rookie forward Beckett Sennecke recorded the first two-goal performance of his career, while Leo Carlsson netted two power-play goals to secure the victory. This is Anaheim’s longest run since the 2021–22 season, when they won eight straight, and marks their ninth win in their past ten contests.

“I heard about the losing days of the past couple years from the older guys, and they’re pretty pumped right now,” said Sennecke.

During this impressive stretch, Anaheim has beaten the reigning two-time Stanley Cup champions twice, as well as a Western Conference finalist and another 2025 playoff team. Their resilience and improved depth have positioned them among the NHL’s elite squads this season.

After recent wins over the 2025 Pacific Division champions in Vegas and last season’s Presidents’ Trophy holders, the Ducks will next travel to Denver to face the Colorado Avalanche in a battle between the league’s top two teams by points percentage.

“It’ll be a good challenge for us. We knew our schedule stacked tough opponents, and I think we’re proving why we belong among the established teams,” Sennecke added.

With his latest goals, Leo Carlsson is now tied with Chicago’s Connor Bedard for second place in league scoring, trailing only Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon.
