Three Stafford voters petitioned the county's Circuit Court to remove Stacey Carroll from the ballot, arguing she doesn't live in the 64th District.
Carroll, a Democrat running against GOP Del. Paul Milde, stated that a judge ruled in her favor, saying
"I am grateful that the court recognized the facts and dismissed this baseless attempt to undermine the will of the voters of the 64th District."
The petition claimed Carroll lives in the 23rd House District, but claims a different address in the 64th District to qualify for the election.
Carroll described the lawsuit as
"a failed political attempt to disenfranchise voters and deny them the opportunity to decide who is best suited to represent their community."
Author's summary: Candidate Stacey Carroll remains on the ballot.
