Netherlands Supports Ukraine's Navy

The Netherlands has delivered an Alkmaar-class mine countermeasures vessel to Ukraine, enhancing Kyiv's naval capabilities in the Black Sea.

According to Vice Admiral Oleksii Neizhpapa, Commander of the Ukrainian Navy,

"Recently, we received an Alkmaar-class mine countermeasures vessel from our partners, and by the end of the year, we expect the delivery of another. Crew training is already underway,"
he said on Sunday, October 12.

Neizhpapa met with a delegation led by Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Breekelman and Commander-in-Chief of the Dutch Armed Forces General Onno Eichelsheim to discuss the security situation and prospects for further cooperation.

A second vessel is expected to be delivered by 2025, further strengthening Ukraine's naval presence.
