Cambodia's New Airport Overshadowed by Scams and War
Tourist arrivals in Cambodia are declining despite the opening of its new airport.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and his wife, Pich Chanmony, attended the inauguration ceremony for Phnom Penh's Techo International Airport in Kandal province on October 20.
Prime Minister Hun Manet described the airport as a "driving force in attracting more tourists and investors to Cambodia than before COVID-19."
The airport's opening was expected to boost tourism, but the reality is different.
