As the fall season ends, a host of skeletons, witches, ghosts, and pumpkins were featured in yard decorations all around Ocracoke Island.
Judging for the Ocracoke Civic & Business Association Halloween Decorating Contest was held in the evening of October. The anonymous judges had tough deliberations, noting that "people did a good job" and there were "a lot of strong contenders."
