Thirty-three Kansas State University students, including Allison Ricker, have received $1,500 research awards through the College of Arts and Sciences' Undergraduate Research Award program.
Ricker, a sophomore in fisheries, wildlife, conservation and environmental biology, is conducting a faculty-mentored research project under the guidance of Loretta Johnson, professor of biology.
“These paid research experiences help students deepen their expertise, practice the concepts they learn in class, and prepare for careers and graduate school,”
said Chris Culbertson, dean of the college. The program provides students with research and creative opportunities, as well as financial support, in various fields including physical, natural, social and behavioral sciences, arts, and humanities.
Award recipients receive $1,500 scholarships to conduct their research projects.
