Remembrance Day Events in Brampton on November 11
The City of Brampton is hosting two Remembrance Day events on November 11: a parade and a remembrance ceremony at city hall.
Event Details
- The ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. at Ken Whillans Square, in front of city hall (2 Wellington St. W.), where the Brampton Cenotaph stands.
- A sunrise service will be held at 7:55 a.m. at Meadowvale Cemetery Church (7732 Mavis Rd.).
Additional Veteran Recognitions
The city is also honoring Black Veterans Day on November 7 and Indigenous Veterans Day on November 8.
Closures and Operating Hours
- November 11 is not a statutory holiday, but some services and businesses will close, including Canada Post offices, passport services, Service Canada locations, and most banks.
- Beer Stores and LCBO outlets will be open with reduced hours, opening at noon in Brampton.
- City hall and certain city facilities will be closed on November 11.
- Brampton Transit will run its usual weekday schedule. Veterans displaying medals, berets, uniforms, blazers, War Veteran Passes, or service papers can ride free all day.
- All Brampton parks and recreation centres will remain open during regular hours, but all library branches will be closed.
