Competency Hearing Sought for Las Vegas Man Charged in Fatal Crash
An attorney for the man charged in the crash that killed a 12-year-old Las Vegas boy is seeking a competency hearing.
Oh'Ryan Brooks appeared in Las Vegas Justice Court for a preliminary hearing in the death of 12-year-old Cristofer Suarez.
However, Judge Joe Bonaventure received a request from Brooks' attorney for a competency evaluation, and proceedings were suspended until the matter can be resolved.
- Brooks is charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, and failure to stop at the scene.
A new hearing was scheduled for November, with Brooks to be bound over to Clark County District Court.
