National Service of Remembrance, Sunday 9 November 2025

The National Service of Remembrance will take place at the Cenotaph on Whitehall, London, on Sunday 9 November, starting at 11am.

Purpose of the Service

The service honors the contributions of British and Commonwealth military and civilian personnel who served in both world wars and subsequent conflicts.

Organization and Participation

The event is coordinated by the Department for Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), in partnership with government departments, the Armed Forces, and veterans’ organizations.
No tickets or passes are required to attend.
The public can watch the ceremony from pavements along Whitehall and Parliament Street.
Security checks will be in place, and access may be restricted if the area becomes full.

Viewing Arrangements

Video screens will be installed at several locations near the Cenotaph to enhance visibility:

North of the Cenotaph, near the green in front of the Field Marshal Montgomery statue
In the lay-by outside Dover House, between Horse Guards and Downing Street
Close to the junction of Whitehall Place
