Russia Tests New Nuclear-Capable Missile
President Vladimir Putin and a top general have announced that Russia has tested a new nuclear-capable cruise missile capable of evading existing defenses.
According to Putin, the missile, known as the Burevestnik, or Storm Petrel in Russian, is a significant development in Russia's military capabilities.
Valery Gerasimov, Russia's chief of general staff, reported that the Burevestnik covered 14,000 kilometers (8,700 miles) in a key test, spending 15 hours in the air, and stated "that's not the limit."
The test brings Russia closer to deploying the missile to its military, with Putin claiming it is designed to confound existing defenses.
