An incoming storm system will bring rain to Chicago late tonight into early Friday morning. Most areas should receive about a quarter inch or less of rain before conditions clear by daybreak.
Friday will feature mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with highs in the lower 60s. Winds will increase throughout the day, gusting up to 30 mph from the west. Enjoy the mild temperatures while they last!
Temperatures will significantly drop over the weekend. On Saturday, highs will reach the upper 40s to around 50 degrees, with rain arriving by late morning or midday. Showers are expected through the afternoon and evening. As temperatures fall in the evening, rain may transition to snow.
Sunday and Monday will be much colder, with highs only in the 30s. Lake effect snow showers are possible both days, though their exact timing and location remain uncertain. At present:
